Will STM32CubeMX ever be able to target atollic directly?

I know that you can set SW4STM as the the IDE in CubeMX and then import into Atollic. However, since Atollic is now owned by ST, it would be nice if they added direct support for setting Atollic as the output inside CubeMX. That would avoid some of the unnecessary files that are generated currently. It would also add confidence that the import isn't going to mess something up.

Does anyone know if something like this is in the works or planned for the future?

Hello,

I'm using stand-alone CubeMX version 4.26.1 and there we are a target.
Perhaps you're using an outdated version?

I feel so silly now. I was looking for Atollic in the list but TrueSTUDIO was right there. Now that I think of it, it's been there for at least while. I think I had to use one of the other options when I was trying out a different tool at some point in the past. The direct export is nice!

Thanks!

Hello,

Generating a TrueSTUDIO project for your board or MCU first and then import the STM32CubeMX files separately is the best way to use STM32CubeMX.
STM32CubeMX can be considered a driver library and is built with TrueSTUDIO the project. Making changes to the STMCubeMX project will require copying the updated "Drivers" folder into the TrueSTUDIO project folder. Maybe Atollic can a make special version STM32CubeMX only for TrueSTUDIO that can fully integrate STMCubeMX into TrueSTUDIO.
