debug with ST-LINK on BlueNRG-1

Postby cedric_grimault » Tue Feb 12, 2019 12:47 pm

Hello.

I have a problem for debug with ST-LINK on BlueNRG-1.
the IDE shows me this message

" Error in initializing ST-LINK device.
Reason: ST-LINK: Could not verify ST device! Abort connection. "

I use the soft example from ST "BLE_Beacon"

Thanks for your help.

Hello,

The BlueNRG-1 does not work with TrueSTUDIO at the moment. It's something that we have been trying to solve and continue to try to do so but so far we have not been able to make it work with TrueSTUDIO just yet.

If I understand correctly I can not debug my program. but is it possible to just compile my program and then flash it with ST-Link utility?

Thanks

I'm not 100% sure, you should be able to build with TrueSTUDIO but I don't know how ST-Link Utility responds to the BlueNRG-1.
You can also use the lite version of the 8.1.0 version, that still works.

ok. i try this version.

I do not understand why the latest version does not work with the BlueNRG-1.
is it a will or an involuntary regression?

Thanks

There were some hardware issues which caused some regression, I guess you could say.
As I've said we're hoping to get support for it back but it hasn't been very prioritized so far.
