Atollic TrueStudio for STM32 not starting on Ubuntu 18.04

Postby navintiwari08 » Tue May 22, 2018 7:12 am

Hello,
After I upgraded Ubuntu 16.04 to Ubuntu 18.04, Truestudio was able to run but with the build/debug toolbar missing.
But now Truestudio does not start. I'm able to see the welcome screen and workplace selection window, but after that it closes and the editor does not open.

I tried running it from command line and have gathered some logs as below. Any idea whats going on here?

Code: Select all

I have Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS installed, and Atollic TrueSTUDIO for STM32 9.2.0.

When I start TrueSTUDIO, there is no toolbar. I then go to Window -> Appearance -> Hide/Show Toolbar, but I cannot make the toolbar show.

However, if I go to Window -> New Window, the new window has a toolbar! However, it seems visually compressed to the right by a large "blank" or empty toolbar. If I change to the Debug Perspective, thankfully, most of the toolbar items appear to be there, but also compressed to the right.

At least I have found a way to show the toolbar, but I think someone at Atollic needs to fix this.

Also, the Help -> Information Center is messed up, with the Headline text overlapping other text on the screen.

Atollic, please fix!!!

Cheers

Fix toolbar by (sudo) editing /opt/Atollic_TrueSTUDIO_for_STM32_x86_64_9.2.0/ide/TrueSTUDIO.ini
and after

Code: Select all

-name
Atollic TrueSTUDIO for STM32

add these two lines

Code: Select all

--launcher.GTK_version
2

Toolbar now shows up on Ubuntu 18.04 AND the log file is no longer HUGE.
